This investigation includes the Bureau’s work on citizenship stripping which has revealed how a little-known power allows the government to strip dual nationals and naturalised persons of their British citizenship if the Home Secretary deems it ‘conducive to the public good’.
Since 2010, 33 people have lost their citizenship on national security grounds. What has become of many of these individuals is unknown.
